Audio
For my media arts class, one of our beginning assignments was telling a story with audio. I ended up working on Audacity and chose Nintendo nostalgia, where I worked with sounds from Zelda: The last WindWaker. From there, I worked with fade-ins and fade-outs to get the right transitions when switching sound effects. I learned how to overlay with clips and top to bottom to get the sounds to work together without overlapping, adjust sound, and messed around with curve-ins more than a curve-out to get a different type of fade so that the listener could get the full story.
Video
My video was a lot of fun and honestly got me crying a few times, because it was something that felt special, after my step-dad passed away at the beginning of the spring semester. I did a lot of transitions, color effects, affects to background, fading, and worked with more of a bright colored oldschool vibe. I gave a sense of memory, so I adjusted most of the video in Vinyl, Seraph, and Vivid colors.
Photo
For my photos, I actually went out and touched some grass and went for a hike around Helena, soaking in the views. I took a Nikon 3300 to Mt. Helena. From there, I used more focus settings, while adjusting to zoom in features to get the right angles, like setting the camera on a bridge, holding it in place, getting a close-up of the bridge itself, while getting an almost blurred out background, giving focus to more of the bridge. After getting my photos, I worked in CapCut and decided to go with a double exposure effect, with darker tones of 1970’s fun time around Helena, with historic figures.
Streamer Journey
Streaming became a space where I challenged myself to create in real time and learn through experience. It was not about chasing a perfect outcome, but about committing to the process and growing through it. Every stream pushed me to adapt, improve, and stay present, turning mistakes into opportunities to refine my skills.
What made this journey meaningful was the amount of time and effort I put into learning the process. I spent over 12 hours teaching myself how to navigate platforms like YouTube, Twitch, Streamlabs, and StreamElements. It was a trial by fire, figuring things out step by step, but that process gave me a real understanding of what it takes to build something from the ground up.
